About the item

  • Presence Detection (Radar-based): Uses 5.8 GHz microwave radar to detect both moving and stationary persons (breathing / subtle movement).

  • Ambient Light Awareness: Has a built-in light sensor so that it triggers actions (e.g. turning on lights) only when ambient brightness is low, helping conserve energy.

  • Zigbee 3.0 Compatible: Works with Zigbee 3.0 hubs (SONOFF iHost, NSPanel Pro, ZB Bridge Pro, ZBDongle-E/P, Echo Plus (2nd Gen), SmartThings V3, etc.).

  • Local Scene Support: Zigbee scene linkage (between Zigbee devices) continues to operate even without internet (if hub and devices remain powered).

  • Power Supply (USB-C): Powered by a 5V ⎓ 1A input via USB-C (no internal battery).

  • Sensitivity & Range Settings:
      • Sensitivity levels: Low, Medium, High
      • Approx. detection ranges:
     • Low ~ 2.5 m
     • Medium ~ 3.5 m
     • High ~ 4 m

  • Detection Angle: ~100° in unobstructed conditions.

  • Dimensions / Weight: ~44.2 × 44.2 × 59 mm, ~31 g.

  • Operating Conditions:
      • Temperature: –10 °C to 60 °C
      • Humidity: 0–90% RH (non-condensing)

  • Pairing Time / Communication: 180 seconds pairing window. Indoor communication range ~30 m.

  • Casing / Material: Made of ABS + PC.

  • Certifications / Standards: CE / FCC / ISED / RoHS.

  • Behavioral Settings: You can configure “detection duration” (i.e., how long after last detection it reports “no presence”) to avoid flickering behavior.

Description

The SONOFF SNZB-06P is a human-presence sensor employing microwave radar (5.8 GHz) to detect occupancy, even when someone is stationary (such as sitting still). Unlike PIR motion sensors, which only detect changes in infrared radiation (i.e. movement), this sensor can perceive small bodily motions like breathing, making it useful in scenarios where motion may be minimal.

Because of its ambient light sensor, it can smartly decide whether to trigger lighting or other actions only when the environment is dim. For example: only turn on lights when someone enters AND it’s dark. This optimizes energy usage.

Since the device is powered via USB-C (5 V), you don’t need to worry about battery replacements, though it does require a constant power source. It integrates into a Zigbee 3.0 network, so the sensor communicates via your Zigbee hub rather than relying on WiFi. The sensor also acts as a Zigbee router in the mesh, helping strengthen your Zigbee network.

In usage and reviews, people note that sensitivity settings are important: in smaller rooms, you may keep it at “Low” to avoid false triggers from distant movement or reflections. In open spaces, “High” can detect up to 4 m. Some also caution that in wide or cluttered rooms, reflection or interference (from fans, curtains, moving objects) may cause mis-detections.

This sensor is especially useful for lighting automation, HVAC control, or smart scenes in living rooms, bedrooms, corridors, or bathrooms, where detecting presence reliably (not just motion) is beneficial.

Given its features, the SNZB-06P sits between simple PIR motion sensors and more advanced mmWave / radar presence sensors. It gives you more reliable “still presence” detection without costing the premium of more exotic models.
