Description

The Sonoff SNZB-04P Zigbee Door/Window Sensor is a smart contact sensor designed to monitor doors or windows in your home automation setup. When the paired magnet is moved away (i.e. the door/window opens), it detects the event and can trigger scenes such as turning lights on, sending notifications, or sounding alarms.
Compared to older models, the SNZB-04P improves flexibility in installation by supporting a stronger magnet and more tolerant spacing, making it less finicky in real-world mounting conditions. It also adds a tamper detection feature: if someone tries to remove or detach the sensor, it will alert you. Reviewers report that the build feels more solid and reliable than earlier models, and the materials/appearance are more refined. (This improvement is noted during real usage tests.)
Because it’s a Zigbee device, it sends its status changes via your Zigbee hub, rather than relying directly on WiFi. That means the sensor doesn’t burden your WiFi network. Its support for local Zigbee scene linkage also ensures that even if your internet or WiFi is down, automations between Zigbee devices can still operate (as long as the hub and devices remain powered).
In the eWeLink app and in integrations, you gain more flexible triggers—beyond simple “open” or “close”, you can set conditions like “if the door/window remains open for X seconds” before triggering an action. This helps avoid false or transient triggers.
Because of its compact dimensions and modest weight, the sensor can be mounted discreetly. It’s ideal for doors, windows, cabinets, safes, or any opening you want to monitor or automate.
